Alec Johnson: Photographer, Teacher.
Alec Johnson is a commercial architecture, landscape and portrait photographer. His work has appeared in Twin Cities Groom, Minnesota Meetings and Events and is currently featured on the ExploreMN website. In 2009 he was selected as runner up in the Lensbaby International Image Competition, from more than 2,400 submissions. In 2010 Alec’s landscape work was accepted through a juried selection for the “Unfeigned or Illusory” landscape photography exhibition at the Minneapolis Photo Center. He was one of 70 chosen from over 2,200 submissions. Another image of Alec’s Lake Superior collection was recently selected for the forthcoming publication, Water’s Edge. Published by Doug Beasley and Open To Interpretation, Water’s Edge is a unique art book which combines images with written interpretations of those images.
He is widely known for being a dynamic and inspirational teacher, honing his teaching skills as a professor of Entrepreneurship at the University of Saint Thomas. He started offering location landscape photography workshops several years ago and is a regular speaker with Twin Cities camera clubs. Please consider taking a workshop with him.
