My favorite.
You’re a master–even when we’re just goofing around.
Cool shot. Like this one a lot. Of course, I don’t think you can take a bad picture of Mason. : ]
Hi Deb,
Thanks for being here. Yes, I agree with you…he doesn’t take a bad shot…many other women commented to me about this too.
Hi Alec,
I’ve missed seeing your images for the past couple of weeks. I love the series of Mason — you’ve managed to capture quite a number of different “moods of Mason”. I like seeing the complexity of a person and you’ve done a great job of capturing that in Mason.
Cool images.
Hi Marti,
Welcome home? Are you home from DV yet? Well, thanks for being here. It was great fun shooting Mason, a good sport for sure and a fun exercise. He allowed me to work out some final details in a fairly complex lighting set up which I look forward to using on an upcoming client shoot.
Can’t wait to see some of your work from DV. Hope you’ll be posting. For anyone reading this, please follow the link in my blog roll to Marti’s blog, Marti Jeffer’s photoblog. She is an amazing photographer and a great energy to be around.
cheers,
alec
He almost has a touch of Jude Law about him and the lighting/ pose/ general style seems very like Platon
I might have liked to see a bit more of his right eye but that seems like a silly comment on the face of it
could you talk a bit about the colour of the original background/ what’s done to light it in this way, where the cyan-y green colour comes from ?
Hey Gordon,
Good to hear from you mon. Hope you’re shooting and/or enjoying the south by southwest…this weekend, right? YES, the pose is a total rip off (influence?
) of Platon…been very interested in his work lately. So, while mason was sitting I just went for it…
The background is a version of gray, and I tend to like this over other colors because it actually gives me more control in setting the color of it! Unless I want a black or white background, I’m using this gray. Then I can real cleanly tone it to compliment the subject matter…
Thanks for stopping by Gordon…hope all is well in Austin.
